Shri Rajarajeshwari Ashtakam is a byte to the glory of different forms and glories of the same Mother, supposed to be composed of enlightened guru Shankaracharya. She is the mother of the universe always contemplated and praised by Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, served by goddess Lakshmi and Saraswati, and even beyond the understanding of the gods of the Trinity. She is represented as being worshiped by the 33,000,000 devas, as well as Lord Ganesha and Subrahmanya. The Scriptures describe her to sit in a Simhasana posture, on the Lord Sadashiva (cosmic consciousness) whose legs are Brahma, Rudra, Indra and Vishnu. She is the one who performs the actions through the gods. Two of hers most powerful and excellent forms are Durga (goddess out of reach) and Kali (goddess of destruction).Īccording to the Puranas, she is absorbed in the creation of the universe by Brahma, she supports the creation by Vishnu and she also annihilates the creation by Shiva. It is intensified with care, love, mercy and grace. She is the true divine queen of all kings (Rajarajeshwari), the merciful protective energy of the Cosmos. She is the most splendid form of the Cosmic Mother. The goddess Rajarajeshwari, also known as Amba, or Parvati, or Durga, is the wife of Lord Shiva and exists in various divine forms. She is the transformative power behind the sustaining power of God. The goddesses of Hinduism are represented as the motherhood of God. Shri Rajarajeshvarya Ashtakam was composed by Adi Shankaracharya.
